Thirty-five fintech companies attracted a total of 173.7 billion won in investment through the Korea FinTech Week 2022 held for three days from September 28 to 30.

On the 8th, the Financial Services Commission announced that “PintoB,” which won the “4th Korea Fintech Week 2022” IR competition, attracted 3 billion won in investment as a supply chain financial platform service in the Southeast Asian market, and 34 fintech companies attracted 170.7 billion won through investment consultation.


As a result, a total of 35 fintech companies attracted a total of 173.7 billion won in investment through the event, up 30% from the previous year (133.7 billion won).

According to the Financial Services Commission, the Korea FinTech Week was held as a complete public event in three years since COVID-19, with a total of more than 7,500 people participating in the opening ceremony, seminars, events, and exhibition halls.


At that time, Kim Joo-hyun, chairman of the Financial Services Commission, went around the exhibition booth after the welcoming speech at the opening ceremony to encourage companies and experience the service in person. In addition, domestic and foreign experts participated in various thematic seminars to discuss the current status and future direction of fintech policies in each country. On top of that, it provided a venue for attracting investment through linkage between fintech companies and venture capital (VC), and conducted networking meet-ups to share mutual information and identify demand.

In the online event, the opening ceremony, seminar, metaverse exhibition hall, education hall, and experience center allowed visitors to experience fintech services without restrictions on time and space. It allows 110 domestic and foreign fintech companies and financial companies to experience services through metaverse.

In addition, 181 fintech job counseling sessions were conducted to young job seekers, including high school and college students, through fintech job mentoring involving 16 companies. Personnel managers from seven fintech companies, six financial companies, and three related agencies and working-level officials from fintech-related departments explained their recruitment information and duties and conducted consultations.

A total of 157 ideas were submitted to the fintech idea contest, and 16 of them won the best ideas. The grand prize was won by “Underwriter,” which provides a service that calculates insurance premiums suitable for customers’ health conditions using machine learning. It provided 25 million won in prize money to the first team of the grand prize winner, 10 million won to the fifth team of the excellence prize winner, and 2.5 million won to the 10 teams of the encouragement prize winner.

In addition, a total of 171 domestic and foreign fintech companies and financial companies were displayed and demonstrated online and offline. 61 offline booths were divided into fintech experience centers, fintech theme centers, financial fintech centers, and global promotion centers, and introduced various fintech services such as remittance, payment, credit evaluation, InsureTech, loan comparison, asset management, online investment-linked finance, and security and certification.
