Coding education startup “Teamsparta” plans to expand support for non-major students throughout the entire cycle from training junior developers to linking recruitment. In addition, the goal is to increase coding projects with large companies and strengthen education programs for executives and employees to preoccupy the B2B (business-to-business) coding education market.

According to industries on the 31st, as the IT (information technology) industry has emerged as the mainstream, the demand for developers dealing with SW (software) technology, which is the core of the industry, is rapidly increasing. As more and more job seekers take IT developer training programs that have increased job competitiveness, interest in companies that provide coding education for non-major students is also increasing.

Founded in April 2019, Team Sparta has launched and operated online coding education service Sparta Coding Club, developer-training bootcamp “Navigation 99”, developer recruitment platform “Port99”, and office worker start-up bootcamp “{Chang}”.

According to Team Sparta, coding education programs have been provided offline until 2019. Since 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic began, the education program has been changed to full online and expanded in earnest. The number of new members in the first half of this year was 108,803, up 184% from the same period last year (38,279). Sales and operating profit recorded 10.5 billion won and 3.1 billion won, respectively, in the first half of this year.

Team Sparta attracted 13 billion won worth of Series A investment earlier this year, announcing its entry into the developer recruitment market. In June, it officially launched ‘Port99’, a platform specializing in developer recruitment. Fork 99 began operating as a beta service that connects graduates of Developer Boot Camp Navigation 99 run by Team Sparta with partners in April. It is set to rebrand under the name ‘Intellig’ next month.

A team Sparta official said, “Port 99 currently has 350 companies registered as partners, including Kakao Ventures Family, Toss, Today’s House, and Woowa Brothers,” adding, “Sparta Coding Club is characterized by a program to foster developers if it is provided as introductory lectures such as web, app, game development and data analysis lectures.

Team Sparta plans to focus on strengthening its B2B business capabilities away from coding education centered on B2C (consumer-to-consumer transactions). It is explained that education in the field of human resource development (HRD) will be expanded to customized coding classes considering the characteristics of each affiliated company and the job relevance of executives and employees.
