Blockchain Labs, which has developed and operated the COVID-19 vaccine pass COOV, launched “Blockcha,” a free messenger service without a central server, through the Apple App Store on the 7th. The service will be available in November at the Google Play Store.

Blockchain Labs held a press conference at Lotte Hotel on the 7th and introduced BlockChat. BlockChat, which will be introduced this time, is a next-generation messenger service that directly connects the conversation parties by generating unique blockchain IDs on individual devices based on Blockchain Labs’ patented blockchain technology.

While the existing messenger service uses a central server that stores personal information and conversations, BlockChat uses decentralized blockchain technology that leads the Web 3.0 era. No personal information is required because it can be used without a separate membership or login. In addition, the message content is stored only on a private device, not on a central server.

Blockchat’s conversation is stored only on a personal device, not on a central server, so no one can check the contents except the parties. It also applies end-to-end encryption technology to block the risk of external exposure that may occur during transmission. Above all, it is safe from leakage of personal information and conversations caused by hacking into the central server, communication failures caused by accidents such as fires, and data loss.

Blockchat generates a blockchain ID unique to the user’s device without inputting personal information. Therefore, it is freed from unwanted advertisements from messenger companies that use personal information collected through membership. In addition, indiscriminate linkage due to contact or ID exposure, recommendation of friends, and the resulting invasion of privacy can be avoided.
